Day 0 - Arrival in the White Mountains

Sunday, no birds but travelling up to New Hampshire, Bartlett in the White Mountains. Still a 5 hour road trip from New London after taking the 1h20 ferry from the very end of the North Fork, Orient Pt, LI.

Almost there, Lincoln, NH -- just driving over Kancamagus Pass and Bear Notch -- which have to be concored by bike later in the week:

After unpacking and meeting with the rest of the group of seven, this very nice (may be the nicest of all days...) a late afternoon they did an easy 24 miler out to Conway and back.

RP2IPBP - a typical LI summer day

Returning to the RP2IPBP ride.

Usual thing, good ride w Marco, John and John...

Ride time: 2h38 / 55mi

Sorry folks, No Ride Stats any longer, old MB starts to suck and reject any little more serious (longer) ride data sets, the new Garmin Connect sucks even more -- just looks fancy but lacks so far on good statistical analysis tools MB was providing. This world is going some where Py does not yet figured out -- looking good and simple, ignoring all the details of fine art of science.

Early Birds - flying South

Sunday, regular procedure.... but a really nice day, finally! And, once after a long time of flooded Dune Road, the South Route again. Nice fast ride, great group.

Here just one shot at the reassembly stop after the bridge, just a few yards after the right turn at the end of the road from the bridge:

Kreb's Friday Night Race

Some thing new once in a while: As Py got his permit to ride, he went to the local Kreb Friday Night Race, a points race this Friday. As he is for the beginning in the Cat5 he had to stick with the B group, 15 Laps. Sprints for points at lap 5-10-15. Not so really exiting, he stayed mroe or less safe in front of the pack and did some work for them -- nothing really happened, just a little sprinting, he has to figure that technique out and so far let them more or less go... However, took two points home from this one.

A short clip of the beginning of the last lap:

EBs N

6:30am, a little chilly and foggy morning, but it is supposed to get nice. Py took an easy spun to the start in Manorville, had a quick chat with some unknown rider he briefly meet on 25A as he though he may go the same way, did not... and took off for Manorville. Kind of thicker getting mist in the air. But a lovely quiet morning.

At the parking a pretty good sized group gathered by 7:30.

North Route again - due to all the rain of the last days Dune Rd seams to be under water all the time :-( Picking up some speed, the tanks run, as usual... and the reassembly wait up stop:

IMG_6103.jpgIMG_6109.jpgIMG_6108.jpg

This "river" or "ditch" on Shore Rd really needs a fix... some one flatted there again. Not sure what the next flat stop was about, some junk on wet road, etc...

And proceeding to the Deli in Cutchogue...

IMG_6120.jpgIMG_6122.jpgIMG_6125.jpgIMG_6126.jpg

From then on a fast ride back and awesome finish with a six ?? rider head group flying "home".

Stats over (Py's) all 80mi: [note by Py [The new fancy looking Garmin Connect is pretty useless as most of the analysis and statistics (like this here) are just now available -- when do some people get it, fancy look and not features sucks] staying with MB so far.]
