stupid hacks ? JAVA | C++ : Py

#include "iostream"

class a_class{
public:
a_class (){ i=1; };
virtual ~a_class (){};

int* steel_it (){ return &i; }; // this is allowed... (but a very bad idea)
void showit (){ std::cout << i << std::endl; };
private:
int i; // this should be save in here...
};

int main(){
a_class a; // make it
a.showit (); // see it
// a.i=3; // this is not allowed
int *i = a.steel_it (); // steel it... and this messes the privacy up...
*i=2; // and fake it...
a.showit (); // see it...
}

well, that's C/C++, not nice but clear to read and forced by the dereferencing of i in the steel_it() member function.

But who ever thought JAVA is better is wrong, it is not and you can do the same dirty things, just return an private array in the same way and you get an reference you can mess around with outside the class -- good-by protection. And worse, it is not as clear to envision what is going on as it is in C.

PyZahl's lesson leared today.

ride ride ride hills

This Saturday PyZahl let his hilly Rocky Point to Iron Pier Beach Park ride. He got a good group and the ride was fun and at a good pace for all the hills. After that done -- 85km or such -- PyZahl did a set of slow and steep climbs in his neighborhood. A great day, steelblue sky and temps in the upper 40ties.

Sunday was Early Birds day. A chilly and wet morning, no rain. North route, some leads over the hills and a fast return run... The sun was late today, almost back home as it made it's way down to the earth...

Was PyZahl in the eye of the ice and snow storm

Last Friday: Early Lab closure due to severe weather conditions at 2pm. Well, there was some icy snowy and dense H2O coming down until late night and PyZahl had hell of fun driving his small SUV w 4x4 & ESP :-) These days are when cars like this are really paying off and are fun -- even pushing through all that slush and ice is not really doing good on gas milage, but who cares in this country at all about cars and gas milage -- PyZahl always was wondering.

With freezing rain on top and frosty temperatures next day and at nigth all that stuff made up an nice solid about 4..6in thick solid ice-like layer all over the area. PyZahl could walk on it without leaving any footprints. Kind of "kewl", but this really pi***** PyZahl off, as riding seamed to be not an so good idea, as it also was kind of cold and windy in addition, so he took it easy that whole weekend...

and took the car out the the most East and South End of the island with friends
- expecting some in ice packed Light-House and Cliffs, but to his total surprise, there was no ice or snow at all that far out, but a great sunny, but chilly and windy Sunday.

We night hill ride

PyZahl rode to and from work the nice hilly and long route on Tue and We and made it in time to the We night hill ride. Great workout. He made it home with his lights by dawn.

Sat/Sun road ride

Sat/Sun -- nothing special, PyZahl just did the regular weekend riding -- about 170km.

Only this ice covered boat docking station...

The ice glaciers are melting -- is this the end of the LI Ice Age 2007, PyZahl is wondering?

Arctic little snowy MTB nite ride

For the last Wednesday night MTB ride a cold night with some fresh powder was waiting. The rock solid frozen single trail in the woods was fun to ride, so nice and clean. PyZahl had his dual TripleFire STONEBITE LED prototype lights mounted as usual, the LiPoly did great as usual, also in the arctic cold of -10C for over about two hours -- and plenty of reserves left.

Here are the few riders of We night, no fear of the cold and lots of fun :-)

2007 Early Birds

Sunday is Early Bird day. May be you've seen some whooooshing by birds today on the North Route.....

Here are some nice birds PyZahl saw as he returned home after a great and fast group ride with the birds today.

More Road Bike Early Bird Photos can be found in PyZahl's Photo Album what is to be known by most of his buddies....

Scouting out a Saturday route

Just one more ride out East to Iron Pear Beach Park

and scouting out a alternate way back on Middle Rd.

Inches of Rain

Just for the records, this view on Friday morning. This was a good wash away of all the salty mess on the roads ;-)
